Ethanol Fireplace Inserts

Ethanol Fireplace inserts can be used to convert an existing fireplace into a BioFire. The BioGrate Fireplace insert has a 1.5 litre Biofuel tank which can give continual burning between 2 - 4 hours.

The BioGrate is for use inside existing fireplaces and may be easily used as a replacement within a standard fireplace. There is no installation except for placing it inside your existing fireplace. The fuel tank and the damper are made of stainless steel, while the remaining parts are made of black powder coated steel.

The hearth dimensions have been determined in such a way making it possible to place it inside most traditional fireplaces. They may also be placed inside fireplaces with cast iron inserts (fireplace inserts with a closed burning chamber). However in such as case it is necessary to remove the door with glass or the glass itself, in order to allow sufficient oxygen into the area.

Using the BioGrate still allows you to enjoy a living fire in your original fireplace, but is free of ash and the need to clean the fireplace and chimney. Smoke moving back into the room is a disadvantage in most of the traditional fireplaces, causing unpleasant smell, and in extreme cases leading to intoxication. When using BioFuel the burning by-product is a small amount of carbon dioxide and steam, in similar proportions to that exhaled by humans.

Installation Requirements:
When installing your BioGrate there is one thing to keep in mind; there must be a minimum of 300mm between the top of the fuel tank and the chimney closure to allow for air circulation.
